こんにちわ皆さん!!
Hope everyone has had a good week. It has just been another week in Takasaki. After transfer calls on monday, we found out Halversen and I are staying here for another transfer. which is good because i am not ready for change yet.
We didn't get a whole lot accomplished this week. A lot of our lesson appointments fell through. We ended up attempting to visit a lot of less actives instead. In Takasaki ward, there are over 600 less actives. Our goal is to get them all back to the fold and have two wards in takasaki. Most of them usually aren't home when we visit, but atleast we found them!! (addresses here are basically impossible to find, so we go around reading mailboxs in the area we think they live) Now that we have found them, we hope to bring members with us to try and visit again.
These past two weeks have been full of Gyozas. I love gyoza here. With the Bai family, we learned how to make them, FROM SCRATCH! We made the dough and everything. It was fun. I still need practice folding them though.... Then, earlier this week, we found a super cheap gyoza shop and the owner is a potenital investigator. She is super fun to talk to and asks questions about our church. We plan on eating there atleast once a week. The gyozas are cheap and good, so why not? haha
On saturday, we did a small service project with Diane (from france) She just moved into an apartment a month ago and there is a garden patch owned by the apartment that hasn't been fixed up for a while. She plans on pulling all the bad stuff and planting something new there. So, on saturday, we went and helped her till the ground with a bunch of little hand rakes. It was fun to do some gardening stuf again. Plus... WE GOT TO WEAR PANTS!! That was a different feeling.. haha We are helping her again later this week and bringing some members with us.
Yesterday, I had to speak in church. Now that was scary. My topic was Personal Progress. It was kind of hard because I didn't know any tongo (vocabulary) for personal progress, but i survived it. I wrote it in english, then Halversen Shimai helped me translate it into Japanese. So, it wasn;t to bad.
Congratulations to Kaeden and Kenzie on the wedding. I am very excited for them.
Well, those were the exciting things that happened this week. This upcoming week we have more planned. Lets just hope they don't all fall through again. Thank you everyone for all your love, support and prayers. It is much needed to help Takasaki ward grow. We are expecting many miracles this transfer in Japan.
Please have a good week and stay safe. Love you all!
